Owner of the Bouddi Gallery, Jody Deamer, will be away from 5 August for five weeks on a buying trip, so instead of the usual contemporary Aboriginal art for sale, three local artists will be holding solo exhibitions:

Bronwyn Van de Graaff of the Central Coast Botanical Art Group. Their annual exhibition opened on Friday 20 July at the Studio Gallery, Gosford Regional Gallery and runs through till Sunday 29 July, open 10am to 4pm each day. An interview with
Helen Goodworth, organiser of the Lakes Artsfest coming up in August. Lakes Artsfest is an annual event run by the Lakes Anglican Church in Kanwal, this year on 24-26 August. Invitation open to all, including young artists. Categories include painting/drawing, sculpture/woodwork, photography and textiles. Gabrielle McIntosh, organiser of a new Theatre Sports group which started this week at the Arts Barn in Kariong. Everyone is welcome to come along and take part or just enjoy the fun as part of the audience, entry cost a mere gold coin donation! Our featured music on the program this week was from a band called Inside Outlaw who actually hail from the North Coast of NSW, but whose lead singer Ronny Lindsay used to live on the Central Coast. The band was here recently and have released a CD called Catastrophe Theory.

Paul Haggith, a well-known Central Coast artist and organiser of the plein air artists at Terrigal for the 5 Lands Walk for the past two years. Amongst many other things, Paul talks about the upcoming exhibitions at the Crowne Plaza and Regional Gallery with works from this group of 20 or so prominent local artists. The first exhibition starts at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal on 21 July 2012. An exhibition of works from the 5 Lands Walk will be on display at the Gosford Regional Gallery from mid January 2013. Bob Puffett from the Bays Community Group, about their annual Wine, Cheese and Art night on Saturday 14 July at the Woy Woy Bay Community Hall. Highlights from the
Barbara Stamos, one of the five potters and two artists involved with the 5 Ways Plus Exhibition, which opened at the Studio Gallery, Gosford Regional Gallery last Friday and runs through till Sunday 15 July, open 9.30am to 4pm each day. The artists are Fran Melrose and Renate Leyer, and the potters are Annette Poole, Barbara Stamos, Judy Barrett, Rachel Bunny and Annette Reid.

An interview with the four artists involved in the Gosford Artists Residency – Wendy Abel Campbell, Kath Fries, Janet Meaney and Kylie Rose McLean
. I visited the artists on their last day in the shop in the Imperial Centre on 29 June, to talk about how the project is going and the exhibition of works from the project opening on the 20th
of July at the Gosford Regional Gallery. The exhibition will run from 21 July till 16 September 2012.
